Board votes to zone 82.5-acre tract for residential, commercial use

Hope Mills commissioners on Monday approved a request to conditionally zone a tract annexed by the town in 2021 to allow a developer to pursue a project that would include both commercial and residential development.

Hope Mills board reviews proposal to host relocated baseball team

The Hope Mills Board of Commissioners took action on a proposal to relocate a baseball team to the town, approved a donation to the Police Department and renewed a contract for storm drain cleaning at its meeting Monday. 

A man and woman have been charged with cruelty to animals after seven horses were seized from Witts End Quarter Horses, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The seized horses included a 3-month-old foal that “sustained felony-level injuries,” according to a news release.

Hope Mills commissioners approve partnership for rebuilt skatepark

The Hope Mills Board of Commissioners took action on upgrading the skatepark at the town's Municipal Park, writing a “no parking” ordinance in front of the T.J. Robinson Center, as well as purchasing an alarm system for the Parks & Recreation Center at its meeting Monday.

Park spaces in Hope Mills will now be more accessible to disabled visitors with the opening of a playground at Municipal Park.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony for  the Reid’s Journey Inclusive Playground was held  Sept. 8 at the park, 5766 Rockfish Road, according to a release.

Hope Mills board to discuss skatepark renovations at Monday meeting

The Hope Mills Board of Commissioners will hear a proposal at its meeting Monday for an upgrade to the skatepark at Hope Mills Municipal Park.
