2nd arrest made in December death of Fayetteville woman

A second man has been arrested in the December death of a Fayetteville woman.

Michael Lee Witt, 30, of Fayetteville, was arrested Monday by detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He is charged in connection with the death of 38-year-old Jessi Marie Lindsley of Fayetteville. Lindsley’s body was found Dec. 17 on Butler Nursery Road near Blossom Road in the Grays Creek area, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released the cause of death.

Witt is in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $100,000 secure bond.

On Jan. 11, detectives charged 18-year-old Javeeno Jeno Antonio Resimo of Hope Mills with first-degree murder in the case, the Sheriff’s Office said. He had previously been charged with accessory after the fact of first-degree murder.

He is being held without bond.
