Carolina College of Biblical Studies will host its seventh annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at Gates Four Golf and Country Club, 6775 Irongate Drive, at 1 p.m. Sept. 30. The player entry fee is $75, and the tournament is limited to 108 golfers. Players may register online until Sept. 18. Businesses or individuals who are interested may also participate as a tournament sponsor.
The tournament raise money to provide tuition assistance to deserving students and helps offset the cost of the college’s signature How to Study the Bible course. College Provost Chris Dickerson says, “The golf tournament is the coming together of students, faculty, alumni, and the community to help students achieve their academic goals. The money raised provides scholarships for students who might not be able to attend otherwise.”
The tournament brings the community together by allowing local businesses to participate as sponsors. “Last year, we gave away over $39,000 in scholarships to students. Much of that came because of the tournament. In fact, that’s not even possible without the tournament,” says Dickerson.
