Nine people who responded to advertisements placed as part of a prostitution sting were arrested at a Skibo Road motel on Thursday, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
A team of officers and detectives conducted the sting, according to a police news release.
Investigators with the department’s Human Trafficking Unit used undercover officers to pose as escorts and sex workers and advertise on a well-known escort website, the release said.
The nine people who were arrested were charged with solicitation of prostitution, the release said.
The operation was a collaborative effort of the Human Trafficking/Narcotics Vice Suppression Unit; the Central, Cross Creek, and Campbellton Community Emergency Response teams; the Emergency Response Team; and Army Criminal Investigation Division, the release said.
