Alex Harrison “Harry” Culbreth, 72, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Harry was born on May 8, 1950, to Earnest H. and Pearl J. Culbreth.  He grew up on his dad’s farm and loved working there, so he made it his career.   He worked for a local farmer for many years and eventually quit, but still felt the Lord was calling him.  God decided to get his attention and Harry had a massive heart attack.  During his recuperation, two men from PWC came to visit and offered him a position to run the farm that PWC had purchased.  It must have been God’s plan for us, as it was the best decision we made.  Harry managed this farm and retired from PWC after 30 years.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bynum J. Culbreth; sisters, Nancy Nemeth, Durema Culbreth, and Margaret Horne; and granddaughter, Addison Cali Culbreth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kathy Averitte Culbreth; children, Dr. Tara C. Seward and husband, Greg; and  Alex Christopher “Chris” Culbreth and wife, Kristy; brother, David H. Culbreth; sisters, Katie Culbreth, Donna Owens, Julia Mathias, and Edith McGee; grandsons, Bryson Seward, Cole Seward, Elijah Seward, Grayden Culbreth, and Luke Seward.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Eastover.  Burial will follow at Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.

Services by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301
