“American Idol” winner and High Point native Fantasia will perform in concert at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville on June 23, the Crown announced on Monday.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday and will be available at Ticketmaster.com/Fantasia.

Also performing will be R&B singer Joe and DJ Shaun Nyce, according to a news release.

Fantasia became internationally known in 2004, when she won Season 3 of “American Idol.” That same year, she released her platinum-selling and Grammy Award-nominated debut album, “Free Yourself.” Her first single, “I Believe,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the album featured other hits including “Truth Is” and the title track.

Her next album debuted in 2006, the self-titled “Fantasia,” included another No. 1 single, “When I See U,” and received two Grammy nominations, the release said.

A third album, “Back to Me,” was released in 2010. The single “Bittersweet” earned Fantasia her first Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Pop Vocal Performance, as well as an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Song.

Subsequent albums were “Side Effects of You” in 2013; “The Definition of…” in 2016; and “Sketchbook” in 2019.

In 2007, Fantasia appeared on Broadway in the role of Celie in “The Color Purple,” for which she won a Theater World Award. She returned to Broadway in 2013 as a featured performer in “After Midnight,” a musical that celebrates the Cotton Club and Harlem Renaissance, according to the release.

Fantasia will make her feature film debut, reprising her role as Celie, in Blitz Bazawule’s movie adaptation of “The Color Purple” musical, scheduled for release in December.

Georgia native Joe released his debut LP, “Everything,” in 1993, the first of 12 full length albums released to date. His third album, 2000’s “My Name is Joe,” was certified triple platinum and features two top five singles in “Stutter” and “I Wanna Know.”

Tickets for the June 23, 2023 show go on sale Friday, March 24th on Ticketmaster.com.
