Another shooting involving juveniles reported in 300 block of Plum Street

A shooting on Plum Street left two juveniles injured early Thursday, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

It is the second shooting this summer involving a juvenile in the neighborhood off Ramsey Street.

Detectives with the department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are investigating, a news release said.

The shooting was reported at about 12:45 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Plum Street. Officers found two juveniles with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries, the release said. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.

On June 28, two men were charged in the shooting of a 17-year-old girl, also in the 300 block of Plum Street, according to the Police Department.

She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

While investigating the shooting on Plum Street, officers received reports of shots being fired in the 500 block of Ramsey Street. They found evidence that a firearm had been used at The Regency Inn and found two men who matched the descriptions of the shooters in the Plum Street incident.

Terrell Ferguson and Nakai Zimmerman were charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury; discharging a gun into an occupied conveyance; and felony conspiracy.
