Charles Marshall Cook Sr.

ABFAN Charles Marshall Cook Sr., of Raeford passed away, Monday, March 1, 2022. Charles was born to the late Dewey James Cook Sr. and Mary Florence Lindsay Cook, in Cumberland County, NC on October 5, 1944. Mr. Cook was a veteran of the US Navy, and worked as a telephone technician at Carolina Telephone for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Nascar racing being a longtime fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. #3.  ABFAN Cook entered the US Navy on December 3, 1963 and served as a Fuel-System Maintenance Man (Air-Trans.) on the USS Randolph. Before being Honorably Discharged after completing his term of service, ABFAN Cook earned the following award: National Defense Service Medal. He also completed an Aviation Fuels System Course and was a certified firefighter. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey Cook Jr. and Don “Ace” Cook. Charles is survived by his son, Charles Marshal Cook Jr. (Carrie), of Hope Mills, NC; his daughter, Pamela Riefkohl (Uroyoan), of Southern Pines, NC; his brother, Ricky Cook (Ellon), of Hope Mills, NC; his sister, Mary Gail Inman (Jimmy), of Fayetteville, NC; a sister in law, Wanda Cook; seven grandchildren, Trevor Zimmerman, Tyler Cook, Cody White, Kailey Whitaker, Uro Riefkohl, Chad Jackson, and Maddie Evans; three great-grandchildren, Titus Zimmerman, Naiomi Cook, and Kaison Cook; as well as a host of extended family members and friends. The family is planning a private Memorial Service at a later date.
