FAYETTEVILLE CITY COUNCIL

Council to hold hearing Monday on public utility annexations

Posted

The Fayetteville City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 433 Hay St. Here's a look at what’s on the agenda:

  • Public comment: As with each first regular meeting of the month, residents will have a chance to voice their concerns during the public-comment period, with each speaker allotted three minutes. Anyone interested in speaking must sign up before the meeting.
  • Public hearings: The council will hold two public hearings on assessments of the Public Works Commission’s Phase V annexation projects. PWC manages the design and construction of sewer and water services in areas annexed into the city. The public hearings will address two preliminary assessments in the annexation areas and what the utility expansions will mean to homeowners.
  • Audit Committee report: If it chooses, the council may hear an administrative report from the Audit Committee on its 2023 progress. The committee, established in 2015, serves in an advisory capacity to assist the council in its oversight of the city’s financial affairs. The council may choose to hear the report at its next work session instead.

The council meeting will be aired on Spectrum Cable Channel 7 and live-streamed at faytv.net.
