City, county partner to offer computer skills classes

The city of Fayetteville and Cumberland County have partnered to host basic to intermediate computer skills classes throughout the year, according to a city news release.

The next class, on basic Microsoft skills, is April 11.

The city’s Economic and Community Development Department’s goal is to build a stronger economy and community for all residents, the release said.

It partners with Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation to offer the classes, and Cumberland County Public Library employees lead the training.

All classes are held at Smith Recreation Center, 1520 Slater Ave., and run from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Upcoming computer classes include.

  • April 11: Microsoft Excel basic.
  • April 13: Microsoft Word intermediate.
  • May 9: Zoom.
  • May 11: Google Docs.
  • Sept. 12: Google Drive.
  • Sept. 14: Google Forms.
  • Oct. 3: Shopping online.
  • Oct. Email basic.
  • Nov. 7: Facebook.
  • Nov. 14: Online safety and security.
  • Dec. 5: Basic computer use.
  • Dec. 12: Laptop basics.
