Posted

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners on Monday night approved a contract with Freese and Nichols Inc. for engineering services for improvements to the NORCRESS sanitary sewer system.

NORCRESS is the Northern Cumberland Regional Sewer System. The nearly $293,000 contract includes work for projects in Godwin, Falcon and Wade. The project includes work at the system’s four lift stations and additional testing and inspection for a force main in Falcon.

During the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Toni Stewart presented Pamela Story with a proclamation recognizing her as the 2022 National Homeless Liaison of the Year. “I will strive to continue to do more so that they can grow up successful and overcome life’s challenges,” Story said.

The board met in closed session for 10 minutes to discuss attorney-client privilege. It took no action related to the closed session.
