Fort Bragg soldier killed, 3 injured in military vehicle accident on post

Identities of victims are withheld as investigation proceeds

One soldier was killed and three others were injured in a military vehicle accident about noon Thursday on Fort Bragg, according to an Army news release.

The wounded soldiers were treated at the scene and taken to Womack Army Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

 “We are saddened by the death of one of our own as a result of a vehicle accident today,” said Maj. Gen. Brian Mennes, deputy commanding general of the 18th Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg. “Our heart goes out to the soldier’s family and friends as we collectively mourn the loss of this soldier.”

The incident is under investigation, the release said.

The name of the soldier who died was withheld until the next of kin have been notified. The names of the injured soldiers also were withheld.
