Gardenmania

Gardenmania, presented by Cape Fear Valley Health System, is one of the premiere events held at Cape Fear Botanical Garden each year. Rain or shine, Gardenmania will be held this Saturday, May 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is open to the public.
All proceeds go to the garden's educational programs and therapeutic horticulture programs. The event is free to garden members and included in daily admission for non-members. All tickets can be purchased via eventbrite.

Gardenmania features presentations on gardening topics that will interest all levels of gardeners. The keynote speaker, Bryce Lane — former host of the Emmy-winning UNC-TV public television show “In the Garden With Bryce Lane” — will lead a workshop on container gardening. Experience camellia pruning and herb gardening. Make and take your own bird feeder and more.
Sweet Valley Ranch will provide farm animals for a petting zoo. Sustainable Sandhills will be on-site hosting a farmer’s market. Enjoy children's activities, vendors and lots of fun. On-site food trucks will have food and beverages available for purchase.

9:30: Sculpted Daylillies with Linda Sue Barnes
10: Build Your Own Bird Feeder – Kenny Bailey
10:30: Make & Take Daylily Painting – Patty Speights
11: Berry Gardening – Gene Nimocks
12: Make & Take Herb Gardening – Amy Stidham
1:30: Container Gardening – Bryce Lane
Bird Watching – Amber Williams, park ranger supervisor at Lake Rim Park
Thank you to event sponsors Holt Oil-C-Stores, Healy Wholesale Company Inc. and several private donors. Some events may have a small fee to participate to cover the cost of supplies.
