James Ruffin Hambrick

James Ruffin Hambrick, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, June 19, in Chapel Hill, NC.  He was 47.    Ruffin loved doing anything outdoors, to include hiking, kayaking, and riding bicycles.  He was also a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing and photography. He enjoyed spending time with his two beloved Golden Retrievers/children Steve and Jenny.  Ruffin was a graduate of the Fayetteville Academy and a student at Appalachian State University.   Ruffin is survived by his parents, Dale and Charlene Hambrick, of Fayetteville; partner Anne Ballentine of Memphis, TN; 1st cousins (who were like brothers) Greg and Chris Griffin of Anderson Creek, Jeff (Donna) Kimmons of Lillington, NC; cousins Annette (Keith) Bozeman and Brian (Tina) Griffin of Meansville, GA, and Richard (K.T.) Griffin of Norfolk, VA; beloved aunts Jo (Earl) Griffin of Anderson Creek and Mary (Buddy) Kimmons of Lillington; and uncle Arthur (Irma) Ozmun of Lauterbach, Germany.  He was “Uncle Ruffin” to Isaiah (Kate) Griffin of Fayetteville and Hannah and Madeline Griffin of Lillington, NC.    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24 at Fayetteville Community Church with Pastor Wesley Pritchard officiating.
