Our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt gained her heavenly wings after a brief illness.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Tommy; her mother, Mavis Wheeler; son, Jackson Stewart and wife Meg, of Eastover; sisters, Pamela Burris of Fayetteville, and Kathy Gautier and husband David, of Roseboro; nephew, Brad Gautier of Roseboro;  niece, Danielle McMullen and husband Scott, of Greenville;  great niece, Alexa; uncle, Wayne Naylor and wife Cherry, of Clinton and family.  She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Wheeler.

To know her was to love her.  Lisa treated everyone with kindness and a gentleness that was felt just by her presence alone.  She worked for Community Alternatives in Raleigh for over 30 years.  Lisa had a servant's heart and would do anything to help someone in need.  This was echoed in her work, through helping those who could not help themselves, to lead a happy and healthy life.  She loved her clients and had many stories of the fun times had with them through the years.

Lisa leaves behind a legacy that can never be replaced, a void that cannot be filled, but leaves us in the comfort of a lifetime of beautiful and fun memories we call all share of her.  She was truly a "one of a kind".  We miss you, We love you and until we meet again.

Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2023, at 2 pm in Sullivan's Highland Chapel.  The burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 12 pm to 2 pm at the funeral home.
