Marilyn Fabian (Kuhnle) Reaves

Marilyn Fabian Reaves, 91, of Laurinburg passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Born to the late, Mr. and Mrs. Kuhnle, Marilyn grew up in Stuttgart, Germany. She came to the United States in the mid-fifties and settled here in Fayetteville, NC. Over the years she became quite the businesswomen in our community, being owner and operator of Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency, Modern Bridal and Formal Wear, Modelle Bridal and Formal Wear, and Fabian House. After retirement, Marilyn relocated to South Carolina and eventually returned to the area.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Denis Fabian and grandson, Adam Quinn Cromartie. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Quinn (Kenneth) Fowler; daughter, Dorothy Cromartie; granddaughter, Jennifer Quinn Fowler; grandson, Peter McKellar Cromartie; five great grandchildren, Jaxson, Cooper, Harper, Sawyer, and McKellar; and best companion, Yogi.

Marilyn had many hobbies including, painting, staining glass, crocheting, traveling, gardening, ballroom dancing, fashion shows, and beauty pageants.

Marilyn’s love for the Lord, her church, the scriptures, and missions, was well known throughout our community. Her studies in the scriptures led her to teaching a young girl’s Sunday School Class. She served her church in many functions including, writing, and producing wonderful Puppet shows for the children which she made all costumes and characters herself. Marilyn sang in the church choir and often sang solos for special occasions.

Later in her life, she became the manager of the Christian Bookstore located in the Carolina Bible College here in Fayetteville. Her work there allowed her to continue in her Bible studies and witness the Gospel of Christ to many people. After retiring, Marilyn relocated to the coast where she enjoyed the last years of her life. Her Christian ministry and testimony continued wherever she went. She had a giving and loving heart towards all people.

A Visitation will be held at 5 to 7 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, June 9, at Church of the Open Door with Pastor Jon Wixtrom officiating. Burial to follow the service at Lafayette Memorial Park Raeford Road.
