Grammy-winning soul singer Maxwell will perform at the Crown Coliseum on Oct. 20,, according to a news release. Tickets for the show are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.
Released in 1996, the singer's critically acclaimed debut, "Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite," earned three Grammy nominations, double platinum status and Recording Industry Association of America gold for the single "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)."
Maxwell's 2009's 'Blacksummers'night' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won two Grammys, including Best R&B Album. To date, Maxwell has achieved four platinum album certifications from the RIAA. His last album ‘blacksummers’night,’ the second installment of his musical trilogy, earned Maxwell his third Grammy (Best R&B Song for “Lake by the Ocean”), an NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Male Artist), and a Soul Train Award (Best R&B/Soul Male Artist). He was honored with the Legend Award at the 2021 Soul Train Awards, the release said.
Maxwell's critically acclaimed ‘The Night Tour’ also topped Pollstar’s 2022 list of Top 20 Global Concert Tours, determined by average box-office gross and the average ticket price for shows worldwide, the release said.
