Sherman Lee Sutton, 67, a resident of Fayetteville, N.C., passed away on May 6, 2023, at home with his loving family. Sherman was an Airborne ranger master sergeant serving 23 years in the Army.
After retiring, he was employed as a Government Contractor Systems administrator. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sutton.
Sherman is survived by his wife, Vicky Sutton; his mother, Helen Sutton; sisters, Sherry Shirley, Machele Dixon and Denise Bixler; and brother, Marvin McTigue.
Sherman had three children, Kevin (Michele) Ofeldt, Amanda Cavalier and Heather (Evan) Penfield. eight grandchildren, Brandon, Alexander, Aubrie, Jared, Wyatt, Sherman, William and Lillian; four great-grandchildren, Marion, Amelia, Aroura and Xeno; and several nieces and nephews.
At Sherman's request, there will be no funeral or service. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Wounded Warrior Project.
