Pair arrested in Durham, charged in shooting death in Fayetteville

Two teenagers have been arrested in Durham in connection with the shooting death of a man outside his Fayetteville apartment, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Timothy Renae Nava, 18, and Nizer Marquise Bennett, 19, each is charged with first-degree murder, felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

They are charged in the death of Nicholas Antonio Bobo, who was shot outside his apartment on Sept. 13 in the 900 block of Enclave Drive, according to a news release.

Bobo had been shot multiple times and died at the scene, the release said. The shooting was reported about 11 p.m. on Sept. 13.

After the shooting, Bobo’s vehicle was stolen. It was found in Durham, the release said.

Officers with the Durham Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service helped take Nava and Bennett into custody, the release said.

Nava and Bennett are being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.
