Peggy Andrews Tyler passed away on March 21, 2023, after a 10-year residency at the WhiteStone Masonic Home in Greensboro, N.C.  Peggy was born on Aug. 23, 1927, in Dillon County, South Carolina to Loyd Baucom Andrews and Gladys Proctor Andrews.  She was educated in Dillon County Schools and a graduate of Dillon High School.

Peggy moved to Danville in 1965, where she and her husband, Lee, owned and operated the Danville News Agency and State News Agency in Greensboro.  

Peggy and Lee were active members of the Danville Golf Club for many years.  Peggy was also a member of the Wayside Garden Club, the Wednesday Club, Main Street United Methodist Church, and the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History.

Peggy and Lee were one of the first to purchase land at Smith Mountain Lake in 1973 and built a lovely home there. They enjoyed many long weekends and holidays entertaining family and friends. They also enjoyed cruising and visited many parts of the world.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Jasper Lee Tyler, and her only son, Samuel Joseph Tyler.  Also her sisters, Miriam Andrews, Marie Tyler Baker, and Marguerite Andrews Graham, and brothers, Loyd Baucom Andrews Jr. and John Power Andrews.

Funeral services will be private and arranged by Jernigan Warren Funeral Home and Lafayette Memorial Cemetery in Fayetteville N.C.
