Posted

Pablo Picasso said every child is an artist.

Help the children in your life tap into their creative side at Cape Fear Botanical Garden during the third annual Pondamania – A Children’s Art Explosion presented by Ray and Daphne Manning as we celebrate nature. The event is free for children under 12.

Activities include make-and-take arts and crafts, games, entertainment, story time by Melissa Reid of United Way and more on Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy entertainment from “Living Rhythms” Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy out of Winston Salem at noon and 2 p.m. Living Rhythms will share the music and dance of West Africa. Each performance is 60 minutes long. Shaky Tail’s Party Animals will have a petting zoo with a llama, a miniature donkey, a horse, rabbits, baby goats and a mama goat.

Laura Dietrich will teach a stencil painting workshop for the family to enjoy. A string quartet from the Fayetteville Symphony will also perform.

Food trucks will be on hand offering tasty treats and refreshing beverages. They include Hollywood Java, Wild Sunflower Pizza & More, Tropical Sno and Jaz-N-Soul.

Thank you to event sponsors and several private donors: Cape Fear Valley Health System and Webb Carpet Company.

The cost is free for garden members. For nonmembers, the cost is $10 plus tax for general admission, $9 plus tax for military with an ID and for adults 65 and older.
