Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation, along with the Special Olympics Spring Games for Cumberland County, is seeking volunteers for the April 3 games, according to a city news release.
The games will be held at Methodist University.
This year’s games will be the first since 2019.
Volunteers can complete a form at Special Olympics Volunteer Sign Up. Volunteer shifts are typically five hours long but can be shorter if necessary, the release said.
Volunteers assist with set-up or work directly with the athletes.
Special Olympics North Carolina is one of the largest such programs in the world with nearly 40,000 registered athletes who train and compete in year-round programs in 20 sports, the release said.
