A ribbon-cutting for the newest water feature at Mable C. Smith Park marked the opening of public splash pads for the season, according to a Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Rec news release.
Public pools are scheduled to open on Memorial Day, according to the release.
The 14 splash pads are free and open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday except for modified hours while school is in session. The facilities at Gray’s Creek, Lake Rim, and Spivey will open at 3 p.m., and the Honeycutt and Massey Hill facilities will open at 3:30 p.m. while school is in isession.
The splash pads will be open through Sept. 30, the release said.
The four pools are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The Keith A. Bates Sr. Pool opens at 3 p.m. while school is in session.
Admission for city residents is $1 for ages 12 and younger and $2 for ages 13 and older. For nonresidents, admission is $2 and $4, respectively, the release said.
Pool hours will change to Saturday and Sunday only beginning Aug. 29. The last swim day of the season will be Labor Day, Sept. 5.
