Stephen James May, 38, passed away on May 27, 2023. He was born Sept. 14, 1984.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Taylor-Lynn Madison May; brother, Jeff May; his mother, (of the home also in Fayetteville) Ginger Akins Holland; and his father, Zeke May (and his wife, Dee) (Summerfield, NC). He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Michael Wright and wife, Priscilla (Fayetteville), Andrew "Jay" May and wife, Paula, Ace May and wife, Brenda (Fayetteville); Beth McPeters (Pooler, GA) Johnny Harrison (Commerce, GA), Buddy Akins Jr, (Sumter, SC) Rick Cash and wife, Kay (Jasper, GA) Mickey Johnson and wife, Faye (Centerville, AL); and his 14 cousins.
He is predeceased by his uncles, Pete McPeters and Stephen Wright; aunt, Glenda Harrison, and aunt, Ronette Akins; grandparents, James I Akins,, Sr. and Mary Emma Akins (Athens, GA) and grandparents, Andrew J May Sr. and Betty May (Fayetteville).
Stephen loved sports and played football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey. He especially enjoyed yard football with his Greek friends! But what he enjoyed most of all was playing arcade games with his precious daughter, Taylor-Lynn.
Everyone who knew Stephen knew how unique he was. We will miss him terribly!
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 2:45 to 3:45 p,m,. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. in the Rogers and Breece Chapel with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating.
