Professional basketball is back in Fayetteville.
The Basketball League has awarded its newest expansion team to the city of Fayetteville. This announcement comes 16 years after the departure of the Fayetteville Patriots, former D-League team.
The team will be named the Fayetteville Stingers. The Stingers will participate in the 2023 TBL season, which will consist of a 24-game regular season. The Stingers will have 12 home games and will look to host its games at the Crown Arena.

The Stingers will host a series of combines later this year.
