2 men killed in separate shootings in Eastover, on Dudley Road

Homicide detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating separate shooting deaths on Saturday, according to news releases.

The first shooting was reported about 12:50 p.m. Saturday when a physical disturbance was reported at 4001 Pembroke Lane in Eastover.

Four people were shot during the disturbance. They were taken to hospitals for treatment, and one died of his injuries.

The dead man was identified as Nicholas Tavel Grady, 40, of Fayetteville.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be random.

Dudley Road shooting

A verbal disturbance was reported about 8 p.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Dudley Road in Fayetteville, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Bryant Thomas King, 34, of Fayetteville, was identified as the victim.

King suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, a news release said.

On Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants for the arrest of Hamzah Abdullah Thompson, 20, of Fayetteville. He is charged with first-degree murder in King’s death, a news release said.
