California artist’s work on display at Cape Fear Studios

Posted

California artist Michele Rene’s “Green Pepper” was chosen for display at Cape Fear Studio's 6by Exhibit through Sept. 19, accroding to a news release.

The show was juried by Dwight Smith, associate director of visual art at Fayetteville State University, the release said.

Known mostly for her figures and abstract forms, Rene decided on a different direction when answering the gallery’s call for smaller works of art. The artist  learned in August that the fruits of her labor paid off. “Green Pepper” was accepted for the exhibit and shipped to the gallery for display, the release said.

“My artwork has traveled more than I have lately,” Rene said.

The artist has shown her work in her hometown of Long Beach, California, and enjoys submitting works for exhibits across the United States.
