Buies Creek – Donnie Mitchell Dees, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old.

Donnie retired from Machine & Welding / Arc3 Gases after 41 years of service where he was well known for building closely knit teams and leaves a legacy of outstanding people working for the company whom he hired and mentored. 

Donnie’s family was always his priority. He was happiest when he was helping others. If you were in Donnie’s presence it was guaranteed that you were laughing to the point of tears and received an unforgettable hug. He spent the 10 years of his retirement enjoying his family, friends, and basset hound, Franklin. Donnie’s infinite love and sense of humor is instilled in his children and grandchildren ensuring his legacy will continue for many generations to come.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth Stutts Dees; children, Donnie Mitchell Dees, Jr. and wife Christa, Margaret Dees, Donna Dees Aldredge and husband Christopher; grandchildren, Courtney, Dylan and Hunter Dees, Hannah Olivera, Beecher, Charlotte and Claire Aldredge; siblings, Dan Dees (Marguerite), Joyce Davis (Bob), Allene Stiffel (Art), Allen Dees (Lona); brother-in-laws, Bobby Conoly, Harold Stutts, Neil Stutts; sister-in-laws, Joan Dees, Chrystal Dees, and Brenda Dees. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Dees, and siblings Jim Dees, Sara Conoly, Ken Dees, Frank Dees, Malcolm Dees and Linda Lovette Jackson. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 1:30-3:00 at MacPherson Presbyterian Church in the Fellowship Hall.  The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary at the church.  The burial will be held in the church cemetery.
