A Fayetteville man charged in a fatal shooting in November was arrested Friday and charged in a second fatal shooting a month earlier, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Zachary Maurice Richardson, 34, was charged Friday with first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Don Flournoy on Oct. 28, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Richardson was already in the Cumberland County Detention Center on unrelated charges, the release said. He is being held without bond and has a first appearance hearing on the new charge scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the detention center, the release said.

Flournoy was shot near the 2400 block of Elcar Drive. He was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, the Sheriff’s Office has previously said.

Richardson was already in the detention center after being arrested Nov. 28 in Georgia. He is charged in the Nov. 25 shooting death of 58-year-old Lowell Anderson of Fayetteville, the Sheriff’s Office has said.

The shooting happened on Town Street, Hope Mills.
