James Strother Thrash

James S. Thrash born May 13, 1932, to the late, Macon and Julia Thrash, departed this earthly home on May 29, 2022. James is preceded in death by his wife, Lena; son, James T. Thrash; four grandchildren, Tommy Thrash, Heather Thrash, Stephanie Logue, and Nikki Lynn Thrash; one great grandchild, Jaheem T. Smith; and four brothers, Bennie, Stancil, Julian, and Charlie. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his four children, Charles (Sandy) Thrash of Fayetteville, Ray (Brandy) Thrash of Tennessee, Judy (Don) Prince of Hope Mills, and Joe Thrash of the home; four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great grandchild, and brother, Bill (Betty) Thrash of Fayetteville; and three sisters, Betty Martin of Hope Mills, Bobbie “Ann” Cain of Hope Mills, and Mary Gibbs of Georgia.  SSG Thrash retired from the US Air Force after proudly serving his country for 20 years. After his time in the US Air Force, he went into the US Postal Service where he worked for 10 years. A Visitation will be held at 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home with Brother Larry Chason officiating. Burial to follow the service at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
