The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has charged two people with first-degree murder after a man and a woman were found dead in a motel overnight.

Deputies were dispatched to the Cloverleaf Motel on Dobbin Holmes Road around 12:50 a.m Saturday in reference to a death investigation. The motel is about 5 miles from downtown Fayetteville.

Deputies found 26-year-old Mia Nichole Street of Hope Mills and 34-year-old Rodney Charles Folger of Spring Lake. Both were unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Their bodies are being sent to the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office said.

Ember Nicole Davis, 33, and Preston Thomas Conley, 19, both of Fayetteville, have been charged with two counts each of first-degree murder, the Sheriff’s Office said.

They are being held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center. Their first appearance is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at the detention center.

All of the parties knew each other and were in the same motel room, the spokeswoman said.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Lt. A. Bean at 910-677-5496 or Crimestoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).
