Paul Rodgers Peel

Retired MSG Paul Rodgers Peel, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.             He was born March 23, 1929, to the late, Harper and Geneva Peel. Mr. Peel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Peel proudly served his county in the US Army for 24 years where he was deployed to Korea in 1953 and Vietnam in 1967 and again in 1970. During his service his was part of the Airborne Special Warfare Board and a member of “The Original JET Jumpers Society” in August of 1965.  He received many awards for his service including: a Combat Infantry Badge, 2 Bronze Stars, Master Parachutist-Glider Badge, and US Army Commendation Medal.             Mr. Peel was an amazing husband to his late wife of 55 years, Doris Williams Peel. He was an incredible father to 4 daughters, Paula Peel and Dorrie Clocher and husband, Gerry, all of Fayetteville, Elizabeth M. Peel of Los Angeles, CA and Mary T. Zimmerman and husband, Paul of Rutherfordton, NC; and son, William R. Peel of Texas. He was a special “popsie” to 8 grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Mary Beth, Christopher, Ashley, Joel, Jordan, and Amy and 6 Great-Grandchildren, Andrew, Meaghan, Cameron, Abigael Evelyn, Carson, and Donnelly.             A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
