Raeford man charged with domestic violence offenses, kidnapping

A Raeford man is charged with domestic violence offenses and faces kidnapping and assault charges, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Ryan Michael Stephens, of the 1000 block of East Prospect Avenue in Raeford, was arrested in connection with multiple domestic violence incidents, a news release said. Stephens first refused to leave the residence but later surrendered to law enforcement officers without incident, the release said.

After his arrest, the Fayetteville Police Department’s Domestic Violence, Aggravated Assault, and Robbery units, with the assistance of Hoke County Sheriff’s Office, searched Stephens’ residence. Detectives seized a computer; multiple phones and iPads; flash drives; narcotics; and cash, the news release said.

Charges related to the drugs and cash have been filed in Hoke County. 

Stephens is charged with two counts of second-degree kidnapping; extortion; disclosure of adult images; common law robbery; felony possession of stolen goods; assault on a female; false imprisonment; communicating threats; interfering with 911 communications and misdemeanor stalking, the release said.

He was issued a $60,000 secured bond.
