Tech adventures await at Cumberland County Public Library: Dive into coding and STEM

Get ready to code, create and innovate with Cumberland County Public Library's exciting lineup of coding and STEM programs! From April through June, participants of all ages will have the chance to embark on interactive learning experiences designed to ignite curiosity, creativity and a passion for innovation.

Under the banner of "Coding @ Your Library," these programs are set to transform the library into a hub of excitement and exploration. We're thrilled to present these dynamic programs to our community. At Cumberland County Public Library, we're committed to providing enriching experiences, and inspiring and empowering individuals of all ages.

The program lineup boasts a diverse range of programs tailored to different age groups and interests. Adults and teens ages 15 and up can flex their creative muscles in "Become a YouTuber," where they'll learn the ins and outs of creating and customizing their own YouTube channels. Meanwhile, younger participants, ages 8 and up, can bring their imaginations to life in "Code Your Own Cartoons," mastering coding techniques to animate their stories.

For those with a passion for music and technology, "Composing with Code" offers a unique opportunity to blend music and computer science concepts. Participants ages 11 to 18 can explore the intersection of art and technology as they create digital compositions using code.

Gamers won't want to miss "Intro to Roblox Development," where they'll dive into the world of game building in Roblox. From creating virtual worlds to designing interactive experiences, participants ages 10 and up will learn the basics of game development in a fun and engaging environment.

But the fun doesn't end there! From web development to game design and STEM exploration, there's something for everyone at Cumberland County Public Library. These programs are designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and equip participants with valuable skills for the future and are provided by Code Ninjas.

This grant is made possible by funding from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (IMLS grant number LS-252476-OLS-22).
