Woman, man arrested on charges of selling cocaine; 6 firearms seized

Investigators seized more than 40 grams of cocaine and six firearms in a search of a residence in the 200 block of Alphin Street on Friday, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The search was conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to a news release.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit seized six guns, about 41 grams of cocaine, and $500 in cash, the release said.

Tammy Renee Jones, 44, of Fayetteville, was charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for drug sales.

Dwight Allen Jones Jr., 30, of Red Springs, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and served on an unrelated order for arrest for shoplifting, the release said.

The two were held at the Cumberland County Detention Center. Tammy Jones was given a $75,000 secured bond; Dwight Jones was given a $15,000 secured bond. Both are scheduled for a first appearance in court at 2:30 p.m. Monday, the release said.
