Mac Johnson, wrestling, Cape Fear
Johnson, a freshman, was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler in the Green Hope Grapple tournament after winning the 106-pound weight class. He won his first three matches by pin. In the finals, he defeated Alex Monks of Bunn by tech fall. Monks is one of the state’s top 2-A wrestlers.
Alyssa Miller, wrestling, Pine Forest
Competing in the women’s division of the Jim King Orange Invitational, Miller won the 152-pound weight class. All three of her victories were by pin, two of the pins taking less than a minute.
