2023 Fayetteville Greek Festival is Sept. 16-17

Posted

A celebration of all things Hellenic, the 2023 Fayetteville Greek Festival is scheduled Saturday and Sunday at  Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 614 Oakridge Ave.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, according to the church's website.

The popular festival features a full menu of Greek food, spirits and pastries, as well as  a traditional Greek band and a troupe of young people performing traditional Greek dances.

Visitors can tour the church, which has some of the finest examples of Byzantine iconography in the North Carolina Sandhills, the website says. Tours will be led by Father Alexander Papagikos and other tour guides.

Raffle tickets will be on sale, with a grand prize of an all-expense-paid trip for two to Greece or $2,000. Tickets will be available for purchase during the festival.

Vendors will be on hand, offering fine jewelry, olive oil from Greece and oil paintings.

Admission is free, and parking will be available along Oakridge Avenue and surrounding streets, the release said.
