Cumberland County Schools Superintendent Marvin Connelly Jr. will spend most of his Monday evenings this fall semester meeting with the public and system stakeholders.
The series of Committed CommUNITY chats program will be a platform for discussion between administrative staff and the community. The first CommUNITY chat is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at E.E. Smith High School, 1800 Seabrook Road. Connelly will be visiting one school in each of the 10 attendance districts over the next 13 weeks.
The conversations are designed to be about issues specific to each attendance area, but people are invited to attend any of the chats to voice their concerns.
Cumberland Family Academy, CCS’ community outreach team, has organized the sessions. CFA was founded during the 2020-21 school year to better connect families with their child's education with support tools, resources and administrative staff.
“I'm excited about the opportunity to connect with our dedicated staff, engaged students, supportive families and the wider community,” Connelly said. “These chats are more than just meetings; they are a chance for us to come together, share insights, and shape the future of our school system.”
