Fayetteville Technical Community College will host a free public performance of “Indivisible,” a dramatic look at the causes of violence and division in American history by playwright, scholar and FTCC communications instructor Sonny Kelly.
“Indivisible,” sponsored by Carolina Public Humanities, will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Cumberland Hall Auditorium at 2215 Hull Road on FTCC’s Fayetteville campus.
In the interactive presentation, Kelly will use storytelling, lecture, poetry and dramatic interpretation to discuss racism and oppression throughout American history as well as the “too-often forgotten” story of “transcending oppression with hope, resilience and unity.”
Kelly also will lead a free workshop at FTCC for kindergarten through 12th grade and community college instructors from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 18. “Personally Connected Pedagogy” will focus on leading instructors through a process of diagnosing and correcting patterns of disconnection in the classroom, according to a news release.
