Storm threat cancels Parade of Nations, delays International Folk Festival

Posted

Because of the threat of stormy weather, the Parade of Nations — originally scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday — has been canceled, and the weekend's International Folk Festival has been relegated to Sunday only.

The Arts Council of Fayetterville-Cumberland County is weighing options to hold the parade at a later date. The parade showcases Fayetteville residents from around the world and typically kicks off the festival.

The Arts Council will continue to monitor the weather forecast and post updates on its Facebook page. Visit wearethearts.com/iff2023 to learn more about the festival.
