A musical based on the story of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell will be staged for two weekends beginning Nov. 9 at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” will be presented by the college’s fine arts department.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Nov. 9-11 and Nov. 16-18, with a 2 p.m. matinee each Saturday, according to an FTCC news release.

Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley, the play was written by Rick Elise, with music by Wayne Barker.

The family-friendly production tells the story of the origin of beloved characters Peter Pan, Mrs. Darling, Tinker Bell and Hook.

All performances are free. The show will be presented in Cumberland Hall Auditorium, 2211 Hull Road.

The play was originally produced on Broadway by Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Greg Schaffert, Eva Price, Tom Smedas and Disney Theatrical Productions.
