Sweet Tea Shakespeare announces 2023-24 season, Arts Council grant

Sweet Tea Shakespeare theater company has been awarded a $45,000 grant to support its 2023-24 performance season.

The grant will support Green Tea, the theater’s youth Shakespeare company, and its productions for the coming season, according to a news release.

The lineup includes “Julius Caesar,” which will be performed with a small cast and tour schools in the fall; “Housewives of Windsor,” which will include improvisation, drinking games and audience interaction; Shakespeare’s comedy “The Merry Wives of Windsor”; “Everybody” by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins; and other programming to be announced.

Sweet Tea Shakespeare is a not-for-profit theater company and training ground for artists of all backgrounds, inspired by Shakespeare, the news release said.
