Three arrested on drug charges

Firearms, more than 15 pounds of drugs found after search of four locations, Sheriff’s Office says

Three people were arrested after lawmen searched four locations Wednesday and seized 15.5 pounds of drugs and firearms, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at three locations in Fayetteville and one in Clayton. Narcotics and organized crime agents also seized $33,193, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Fayetteville locations were on Linwood Drive, Irongate Drive and Sumner Drive. The Clayton location was on Sarazen Drive, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

The Sheriff’s Office said the following were arrested: 

Carter Demetrius Sharpe, 33, of Fayetteville, was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, conspiring to traffic marijuana and maintaining a dwelling. He was booked at the Cumberland County Detention Center and given a $75,000 secure bond.

Monica Ingram, 34, of Fayetteville, was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling. She was booked at the Cumberland County Detention Center and given an $11,000 secure bond.

Markeith Shacol Rushing, 28, of Pinebluff, was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling. He was booked at the Cumberland County Detention Center and given a $50,000 secure bond.

Several agencies collaborated on the case, including Homeland Security Investigations, the North Carolina Department of Revenue, the Clayton Police Department and Cumberland County Animal Services, the release said.
