TSGT Calvin Jackson Allen, Retired, 97 of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Carolina Rehab Center.

Calvin was born in Athens, GA on April 13, 1925, son to the late Morrison and Huldie Faulkner Allen. Calvin was drafted in the US Army when he turned 18 years old. He stormed the beaches of Normandy during the battle of the Bulge and was wounded, spending six months in a Military Hospital recovering from his injuries. For his heroism he receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He later joined the US Air Force and retired in 1969. After retirement he worked for Methodist College in Fayetteville and retired from there after 22 years. Later in life, he was led to the Lord by Pastor Tony Wilson becoming a devout Christian who knew how to pray and was a faithful member of West Fayetteville Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 children, Linda Lavon Allen, John Morrison Allen and 7 siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife whom he married on April 5, 1946, Rosa R. Allen of the home; a son, Anthony Allen of Statesville; 3 daughters, Sandra Hart of Campobello, SC, Teresa O’Berry and husband Larry of Cameron, NC and Pam Bozeman and husband Joseph of Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2022 at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday July, 1 2022 at West Fayetteville Baptist Church, 2465 Gillis Hill Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28304 with Reverend Tony Wilson officiating

Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at 12:30 P.M. in Cumberland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4509 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304.
