The public is invited to attend a memorial service in honor of firefighters and emergency services workers who have sacrificed their lives serving Cumberland County and Fort Liberty, according to a news release.

Deputy Chief Derrick Clouston, president of the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs, will speak at the 23rd annual Cumberland County Emergency Services Memorial, the release said. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Fayetteville Technical Community College-Cumberland County Regional Fire and Rescue Training Center at Tom Starling Road and Corporation Drive in Fayetteville.

The memorial service will include a wreath-laying, roll call of fallen emergency services personnel, a last alarm, traditional firefighter 5-5-5 bell ringing, and the playing of taps, the release said.
