Edward James Talbert, Jr. age 70, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away on April 14, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Born on October 31, 1953, in Bath, New York, to the late Edward James Talbert, Sr. and Mildred Holleran Talbert.

Edward lived a life marked by honor, courage, and dedication. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he exhibited bravery and commitment. His service was a testament to his patriotism and love for his country.

Edward cultivated a life surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. He cherished his role as a dedicated husband to his late wife, Janice Talbert, and as a caring father to his late son, Jason Talbert, as well as his daughter, Ammie Pettay, and her husband, Dale Pettay. Additionally, he took great pride in being a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren; Dylan Talbert, Jacob Talbert, Jayson Talbert, Cole Pettay, and Mark Allen Pettay. Among his siblings, Edward held the position of the eldest among seven; the late Patsy Talbert, Lynn Talbert, Wayne Talbert (and his wife, Sandra), James Talbert (and his wife, Kelly), the late Gail Schabel, and Allen Talbert (and his wife, Clarice). He was a nurturing uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Edward's enduring love and unwavering support touched all aspects of his life, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. He will be profoundly missed.

Edward's legacy is one of service, love, and unwavering dedication. Though he may have departed from our sight, his memory will endure in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.

A celebration of Edward's life will be held on May 3, 2024, starting at 1:00 pm at Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake. Edward will be laid to rest with military honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Association in memory of his late wife, Janice Talbert, and his late son, Jason Talbert.
