The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a weekend shooting in a motel parking lot that left one person dead.
At 9 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a reported shooting at the Coliseum Inn on Gillespie Street. They found 29-year-old Donald Charles Owens III of Fayetteville, who had been shot in the parking lot, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
Owens was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He died Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators want to speak with 28-year-old Damon Javone Ward of Fayetteville about the case, the Sheriff’s Office said in the release.
