Turf-marking machine takes work out of preparing athletic fields for games

David Culbreth is always on the lookout for technological advances that will save school coaches time from certain aspects of their work so they can devote more of it to their students and families. His latest discovery is the Turf Tank Two, which tackles the arduous task of lining athletic fields for play and turns it into a job for one person and one machine.

General Assembly completes dismantling of High School Athletics Association

The North Carolina General Assembly has penned a 21st-century version of the Hans Christian Andersen classic “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” State Senate Bill 452 has completed the stripping of power from the N.C. A man and woman have been charged with cruelty to animals after seven horses were seized from Witts End Quarter Horses, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The seized horses included a 3-month-old foal that “sustained felony-level injuries,” according to a news release.
